It's a Boy

It's a boy! I must admit, I was really upset that it wasn't a girl, but hey what can I do right?! (It's all Gilbert's fault...as usual) haha

After a long anticipated wait all day, we couldn't wait to open the envelope with the sex of the baby!! We went to The Melting Pot and we were at this really intimate table for 2, as soon as we sat down, Gilbert said "open it, I can't stand it!!" So we opened it, and looked for the sex, and there at the bottom of the picture, it said "I am a boy!!" Gilbert said "Oh my gosh, I really thought it was a girl!" He was so happy, and I just cried a little bit, because I really, really wanted that little girl. I had the colors of the room all picked out, and that cherry blossom stroller from Babies 'R Us, and I wanted to play dress up and do her little hair and nails. It's healthy, that's the plus to it all.

10 Fingers and 10 Toes

Today Gilbert and I went to Winnie Palmer to have the latest sonogram, I am 19 weeks today!! We saw the heart, the brain, spinal cord, ribs, kidneys...it was so amazing. This was Gilbert's first sonogram, so he was really excited to see it all.
Today was also the day that we find out what we are having. We wanted to make it special to find out the sex of the baby, so we had the sonogram tech type what it was on the picture, and put it into an envelope for us, and then we are going to go to dinner tonight at The Melting Pot and open the envelope together and see what we are having. I thought it would be more special, and less clinical that way!! I'll let you know what the sex is tomorrow!!

So far...so good....

I am finally in my 2nd Trimester! I am so excited!! I had a sonogram at Winnie Palmer Hospital yesterday and saw the baby! It was awesome! Although "she" was not being cooperative on the screen and moving around. It appears that right now, the baby is lazy like "her" mom!

We will find out December 14, 2007 what sex the baby is, and I can't wait! I am 95% sure that it's going to be a girl, plus I have a $50.00 bet with Gilbert's Uncle Mike that it's a girl NOT a boy as everyone thinks it's going to be!

I'm really excited about the entire thing, but still nervous at the same time!

A heartbeat away

I heard the baby's heartbeat on 9/20/07!! It was so exciting! Gilbert was not able to go with me, but I called him during the ultrasound and let him listen to the heartbeat. He was so amazed at how quickly it was beating! It's almost like it's finally hit home that I am pregnant!!

One thing I will say that sucks has been the "morning sickness" not sure why it's called that since it comes on whenever it pleases, and I have been sick as a dog!!! Wow! I didn't know how many hours I could be nauseous in a day! But everyone says it gets better, so I am going to try to trust that advice, and get myself through the day!

I'm Pregnant!!

Well, it's been 3 weeks since I found out that I'm pregnant! I am still in shock by the news...I think Gilbert is shocked as well. I am not sure how I am going to be as a mom, but I hear it'll just come naturally. I have my appointment with the doctor for my first sonogram on October 3rd.
This whole thing is going to be a new experience for the both of us, but we are excited nonetheless!!

How it all happened....So Gilbert and I were on our cruise, and I was going to the bathroom every 5 minutes it seemed like, and I was exhausted! On previous cruises, I would just go and go, and this one, I would come back to the room after an excursion and sleep for 4 hours at a time! It was incredible! Gilbert kept asking if I was okay...I said "oh yeah just tired." Then one day at sea he said maybe you're pregnant, and I was like nah...but he would always reach over and rub my stomach saying I know something is in there....so then I got to thinking maybe we shouldn't do our snuba excursion, not sure if that would be okay if I was pregnant. So we swapped that excursion with snorkeling, which was just as fun!

As soon as we got back from the cruise, I waited until Monday and took the test. Gilbert was at the dentist, and I had some time alone, so I took it. As soon as I peed on that stick, there were 2 lines! I thought oh my God what have we done, could this be false?! Then I read there are usually not any false positives, only negatives! Oh crap...it hit me all of the sudden I was pregnant! I immediately called my friend Barbie who informed me to take like 6 more tests! I called my mom, and asked her what she thought, and she was elated! Of course she HAD to call my dad and tell him too! Gilbert finally called me back on his way home, and I said I need to talk to you about something. He said "oh just tell me!" So I said "well, I think I'm pregnant!" He said "what makes you think that?" I said "because I took the test and I got 2 lines!!" As soon as he got home, we rushed out to Target and bought another test....a digital one (for more accuracy), and that one came back positive too! Holy crap....it's really happening, we are going to be parents!!!
