Peanut's 1st Birthday

Peanut turned one! We had the best party ever! I know how to throw a birthday party that's for sure, and everyone agreed with me! Those cake classes came in handy too because I made his birthday cake, and everyone was so impressed....pat on my back!

The theme was monkey's and the reason was because he got a stuffed animal monkey from my mom and dad for Christmas and he loves the thing! Anyway, so I decided to do a monkey theme. I spent a lot of money on this kids party too! Whoa! I got plates and stuff with a monkey on it, and then I ordered M&M's with his picture on them! Everyone loved that too! I made gift bags for each family and put the M&M's in there, along with a picture of Peanut that I stamped a frame around! It was a lot of work and money, but so worth it! He is my baby and he is worth every penny we spent on him!!

My latest adventure

For the longest time I have wanted to open my own bakery and decorate cakes because I love to bake, I love cakes, and I love doing crafty stuff, so I decided to take the plunge and take a cake decorating class! I went to my class last Thursday and it was so interesting. We got tons of homework to prepare for next class, so today I decided to practice making my icing and coloring the icing for my next class. Needless to say, my cake turned out really poorly....I totally forgot to grease the bottom of the pan (which I have NEVER forgotten to do before!), so you can only imagine what happened when I took the cake out of the pan....crumb city! Anyway, so then I decided to practice my icing because in the class, she made it look soooooooo easy....my cake looks like crap!! I hope my cake for Thursday's class turns out better than the one I decorated today otherwise I am in for trouble, and my bakery dreams are going downhill! haha

Tiny person......big germs!

Holy cow! Now I am sick! Talk about big germs for such a small little person! Is that how it works? The baby gets sick and then we all get sick? First the baby was sick with a cold, and then he gave it to Gilbert....I somehow managed not to get sick. Just when I thought Nicolas was getting better he developed bronchitis, and now I have the worst bronchitis I have ever had!!! Thanks Peanut! I am hacking and coughing like there is no tomorrow! Talk about unlucky. I have been sick for about 3 days now and I am hating every second of it! Now the baby is getting somewhat better I hope he doesn't get it back!
